To apply for the Boys Electrical Apprenticeship program, you should meet these requirements:
- Be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Hold a high school diploma or a State of Florida-recognized equivalent educational credential.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of an electrician, both with or without reasonable accommodation.
To begin the Boys Electrical Apprenticeship Program, you should contact us to make an appointment.
You’ll earn valuable skills, job security, competitive pay, and a clear path to certifications and licenses.
The program is four years. You’ll have 144 hours of technical learning each year, blending classroom insights with remote virtual learning. But it’s not all books and screens – you’ll be actively working and earning with us, accumulating over 8,000 hours of practical experience.
Apprentices typically follow a schedule that combines in-person classes and remote virtual assignments. The instructor conducts in-person classes for 2.5 hours once a week in the evening. Additionally, apprentices work during the day with a typical schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Apprenticeship is free! Boys Electrical Contractors pay for the cost of classes and books.
As apprentices progress through their apprenticeship, they advance alongside their growing skills and knowledge. Moreover, we provide further opportunities for advancement through our specialized leadership training courses.
Our apprenticeship program is all about celebrating diversity and promoting inclusivity. We welcome individuals from all genders, backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life. We believe diversity fuels innovation, and inclusivity creates a supportive community where everyone can thrive.
Safety is our top priority in the apprenticeship program, and we take it seriously. Our instructors are OSHA certified, and we have a dedicated Safety Manager from Boys Electrical Contractors overseeing safety measures. We provide training on how to work safely with electrical systems and tools.
You’ll learn about safety procedures, hazard identification, and how to protect yourself and your team. We want you to be confident and secure while gaining practical experience.
Our classes kick off in August yearly, and registration typically opens in June. However, as our program expands, we might introduce more class start times, so stay in the loop by checking back with us regularly.
